These boys are learning and taking in so much. They have started repeating almost every word we say and it's hilarious. Nolan loves words like "vinegar" and "faker" (both of which sound like "gaga" ha ha. Mackay is trying to figure out the difference between yes and no, although he usually opts for yeah whether he means it or not. They love cars, trucks, tractors, buses, doggies, being outside, fruit snacks (na), putting shirts, towels, and plastic drawers over their heads and walking around saying "hi", reading, going on walks, Mickey, Minnie, and Pete, and mostly causing mischief whenever they can. They have recently starting yelling made up words, then looking at each other and yelling them together, at the same time. They have always been loud. They are starting to learn their body parts and facial features, although they prefer to be silly and will only usually point to one or two before they want to make you laugh again. They love to say "bu- bye" and are learning to put words together in order to tell you who is leaving or tell Daddy bye in the mornings when he leaves for work.
We bought them a potty seat and let them sit on it before the bath every night. Nolan has gone potty four times and Mackay has gone once. Mama starts yelling and clapping... they have no idea what they did, but they think it's fun either way. They are discovering how to flush the toilet and we are going to start letting that be their incentive for potty.
They both LOVE to say "hi". It's like the magic word, especially for Mackay. When you are getting mad at him, he will look at you and say "hi" in the sweetest little voice. When either one of them is upset or crying, the other one will look right in his face and say "hi" over and over again, like it's going to make everything better. They really are so sweet.
They have learned a new game where one of them will yell something (a jibberish word or just a loud yell) and then look at the other one and then they both start yelling the word at the same time while staring at each other. They think it's hilarious... and it is. Our kids are so loud.
Individually...
Nolan:
Is still the silliest boy. He cracks us up and he always wants to make you laugh.
He doesn't love snuggling anymore and rarely gives a real (open mouth) kiss.
Speaks so much gibberish. When he does speak real words he pronounces them very well.
Answers "no" to almost anything you ask him.
Loves the "bopy" (potty). Even though he doesn't know why mama gets so excited about it sometimes.
LOVES new people. He will be shy for about a minute then wants the new person to hold him. Any time we have friends over, he wants them to hold him. Mama was holding him in line at Cafe Rio one day and he reached behind her to the lady behind her.... a little too friendly sometimes.
Loves building and stacking things.... then knocking them over.
Is the best ignorer of all time... no really.
But is very obedient when he wants to listen, wants being the key word.
Mackay:
Is such a sweetheart. He is silly but not like his brother, he just wants you to be happy and prefers to get it done with loves and kisses.
Gives loves and kisses all the time. Loves to snuggle.
Tries harder to say real words and prefers them to gibberish. If he knows the word for something he wants, he uses it. Sometimes the words he uses have no rhyme or reason... car is "didi"
Answers "yeah" to almost all questions. Will say "no" if he doesn't want food. Says "yep" when he really wants something.
Very shy. Prefers mommy or daddy.
LOVES his sockies. If they fall off his feet he will bring them to you and make you put them back on, unless you tell him that we are going to put on his Mickey shoes in a minute. And if his Mickey shoes (flip flops) fall off, he needs them back on.
Thinks it's hilarious when people run.
Loves throwing and catching balls.
They love jumping on the bed, climbing on everything (especially the couch), looking out the window, Lady, babies, being outside, drinks, balls, brushing their teeth, shoes, rocks, and cookies. Our favorite word that they say is turtle. They both really pronounce it well, but the two syllables are spaced apart and they say it in the cutest little low voices as they search for one. Hilarious. They are just so happy and want everyone else to be happy. They are so much fun. Their little gap toothed smiles are to die for. We can't imagine our lives any other way.
They have such personalities. Sorry for the picture overload...we just can't help it (plus, mama has learned to use her camera and is loving it). LOVE these crazy busy boys.
