Darcy Nine Months and New Family Photo

At nine months, Darcy has already been walking for nearly two months.  She's crazy.  She definitely knows what she wants and knows how to get it.  She has zero teeth, but can eat almost anything the rest of us eat.  She seems to be growing out of her sensitivities finally, but still has a bit of a problem with dairy.  It's not as bad as it used to be, but we still avoid it for now.  Peanuts are now ok, and wheat is almost 100% so we let her eat it now.  She got her ears pierced about a week after she turned 8 months old, and they are darling.  She follows her brothers every where.  She wants to be where they are, do what they are doing, and to play with whatever they are playing with.

She smiles near constantly, except when she gives you a scrunchy face, which is mom and dad's favorite.  She points when she wants something, a quick point and she pulls her hand back over and over while rocking back and forth.  She jabbers all day long.  She has said "dada", "nunun (Nolan)" but we can't get her to say them again.  She said "Mackay" once and even yelled at Lady when she walked passed her once.  She consistently says "mama" and is definitely a mama's girl.  She definitely knows how to let you know what she wants.

It took us awhile to get her to full on laugh, because she tried so hard not to, but she's finally let loose and has the sweetest laugh.  Her brothers make her laugh more than anything else and they know it.  As soon as she starts laughing, they drop whatever else they are doing, swarm her and keep her going.  It's the sweetest.  She thinks the word "ouch" is hilarious in all it's variations.

She has only gained about half a pound since she was six months old and is starting to thin out now that she moves around more.  She's about half an ounce shy of 22 pounds, which is the 90th percentile now, rather than 99 or 100th.  She's half an inch shy of 29 inches long, which puts her in the 88th percentile, which is pretty consistent.

She is still nursing like a champ, and is not sleeping through the night, because she's too hungry.  She's gotta do something to remain a giant.  She wears 18-24 month sized clothes, which seem to be a little big, but not enough to worry about.  The cute little sweater dress she wore in her photos is size 2T.

We just adore this little girl and we're so glad that she joined our family.  She is such a blessing and so much fun... and she's just so darn pretty.  We love her.

December

We had a better snow day in December.  Daddy built an awesome snow fort for the kids, seriously, how cool is that.  We visited Santa, and family, and had lots of fun doing all of the Christmas things.  This was the first time that the boys really understood what was going on and had fun with Christmas.  They understood presents and were anticipating Santa's arrival.  It was so much fun.  Darcy tags along so well and seems to be enjoying herself no matter what we do.  These kids are so awesome.

November

We had a snow day before all the leaves fell off the trees.  The boys were so excited to get out and play.  Darcy wasn't quite as excited, she wasn't a huge fan of that snow suit.  We finally got into the leaves and threw them around.  All three kids were fans of that.

October

October is probably our favorite month.  We just love all of the fall things, and Halloween is pretty awesome.  We went to the pumpkin patch and the boys loved running through the corn maze.  The boys were so excited this year and cared to chose their costumes for the first time.  They chose classics, a mummy and a ghost.  Also... the easiest costumes to make... ever.  Darcy had to follow suit and be something classic (although mommy had been dreaming of making a little princess) she was the cutest little witch!

Four Year Old Twins and Six Month Old Darcy

Darcy turned six months old four days before the boys fourth birthday, so we took all three kids out to take new pictures.  Mackay was the least cooperative of the bunch, but they turned out pretty cute.  Time now for the update on all three kiddos.

Our crazy boys are 4!  The are average weight and a little on the short side, but perfectly healthy.  They love trains, tractors, dinosaurs, Octonauts, baseball, their little sister, and being goofy.

Nolan is a much more mellow kid than his brother.  He's easier to distract when he's upset, but he doesn't get upset very often.  He loves to snuggle and give kisses.  He loves all people.  He's aggressive.  But he's such a sweet boy.  He is everyone's best friend.  Anytime we do something with friends or grandparents, he has to be holding the hand of any adult who is not mom or dad.  He picks a person and latches on.  He doesn't like to do things without his brother.  He has to involve his brother in all games.  He is definitely a people person.  He tells people what to say in conversations, and it's hilarious.  "Mom, can I have a fruit snack?  Say, sure, Nolan".

Mackay definitely prefers things a certain way and he holds onto things for a lot longer.  He loves to give "a love and a kiss".  He's more shy, but still loves his friends and meeting new people.  He can sit and play in a corner by himself and be perfectly content.  He's definitely more of a mamas boy, but he still loves people, just makes sure mom is still around.  He loves games and figures them out fast.  He's really good at them too.

They have very different personalities, but they are also pretty similar.  They have a lot of similar personality features, but different things are more pronounced in one or the other.  They are very much their own people, but it's hard to pick out differences.  They are very rambunctious and so full of energy.  They love to run around like lunatics, throw balls and chase them, and jump around.

How is it that Darcy is already six months old?  She is in the 99th percentile for weight and 97th for height... basically, she is a giant.  She is crawling all over the place and pulling herself up on furniture.  She lifts her arms in the air for no reason at all.  Her babbling consists of "dadadada" and "babababa".  When you say hi to her she makes a long drawn out "hhhhaaahhh" sound.  We think she is trying to repeat "hi".  When she is sad she says "mom mom mom", and we're pretty sure she's knows what she's doing.  She's not much of a binki lover, but it definitely helps transition her when she falls asleep while nursing.  She eats like a champ.  Sweet potato and avocado are probably her favorites.  She is a total mama's girl, and we're ok with that.  For now we are trying to keep her a baby as much as possible, but we know that won't last long... she's already wearing 12-18 month sized clothes.

Life with three kids has been crazy, but awesome.  The boys adore their little sister, and she loves them.  They can always make her smile.  The best laughs we have ever heard from her are for her brothers.  Her favorite time of the day, is after bedtime prayers when daddy takes her to get ready for bed and mom stays to read a story to the boys.  As she's leaving with dad and the boys tell her good night, she wears the biggest smile.  The boys are always willing to help when it comes to her needs.  They are just the sweetest kids and we are so happy they are ours.
